Marteinn

Marteinn is a restaurant owner and chef. The episodes take place in his restaurant, as well as at the home of him and his wife Elísabet, played by Edda Björga Eyjólfsdóttir. Elísabet is a very strong-willed woman, but sometimes it is difficult to deal with her husband, who is extremely withdrawn, except for one thing in the bedroom. Marteinn's best friend, Lárus Páll, played by Kjartan Guðjónsson, is as different from Marteinn as you can imagine. Lárus Páll is an actor who believes in his heart that he is very good at his job. He is the only one of those who believes that. Elísabet's sister Petra and the waiter Eva spice up the plot with hilarious arrivals and unexpected events. The series is written by Bjarni Haukur Þórssson, who needs little introduction in Iceland after his triumphant run with the plays Hellisbúann and Pabbann, and who has also directed many popular theatre productions in the Nordic countries in recent years.
