Song Yi Qiu and Ning Chang Yue are immortals who originate from the Southern Qin period. Trapped in a desperate situation centuries ago, they consume tree elixirs offered by Yu Tu, the Osmanthus Tree Spirit, and forge a Covenant of Eternal Life. The gift of immortality comes at a heavy price: they are trapped in endless time, repeatedly witnessing their loved ones perish. Whenever either of them dies, they reappear beside one another. After three thousand years of love and resentment, Song Yi Qiu grows weary of the endless loneliness brought by immortality. She is determined to break the curse and find a true end to their eternal existence.
