The euro has also been the official currency in Germany since 2002. Now - more than 10 years later - the euro zone is sinking into chaos. The economy is paralyzed, one state after another is slipping into bankruptcy and has to be rescued. Unemployment is exploding, especially in the south, and young people are particularly hard hit.
