June 1940. While the Germans inexorably advance on French territory, the army is in the midst of a collapse. While the senior officers are playing "save who can", a handful of French soldiers desperately resist on the banks of the Loire. On one side, a company of Senegalese infantrymen and a few French soldiers, on the other, the armored vehicles of the Wehrmarcht. An act with no real future, it is considered heroic by some and useless for others. But for their leader, Henri Dragance, there is no other alternative than to resist or to die.
