A Passagem da Noite

Mariana is 17 years old, lives on the outskirts of Lisbon and is a high school student. One day she is faced with a desperate situation: she is raped by a drug addict and later discovers she is pregnant. Out of fear, shame or anger, she decides to cover up with everyone – parents, boyfriend, friends, police and court – and face what happened alone. Only an insistent judicial inspector, a kind of guardian angel, and a pragmatic prostitute watch the secret path of survival to rape, subsequent unwanted pregnancy and possible contamination with AIDS of this young woman, who is thus forced to a "passage" to the troubled adulthood.
