Two neighbors quarrel through the hole in the wall which connects their bedrooms.

In the mid-1950s, an unnamed convict succsesfully manages to escape from the Goli Otok prison island, seeking shelter in a monastery on the nearby island of Rab and striking a kinship with one of the nuns in it. A few days later, an agent of the Yugoslav State Security Service arrives on the island, desperate to find the man's whereabouts. The nuns and the monks face a decision of their lifetime. Are they going to turn the wounded man they know nothing about to the authorities, or will they continue concealing him and risk their lives in the process?

When the Lady neighbor's teenage son is killed by a sniper as a collateral damage, she then rejects the Boy. The Boy escapes the siege, and shoots from a cannon at the city.Fifteen years later, the Boy - now twenty five - and the Lady neighbor meet again. They are united in pain and suffering.

A middle-aged manager of a big-scale company pays visit to his native island with his wife, in order to attend ceremony of unveiling a memorial plaque dedicated to local partisan heroes.
