Tatort is a long-running German/Austrian/Swiss crime television series set in various parts of these countries. The show is broadcast on the channels of ARD in Germany, ORF in Austria and SF1 in Switzerland.

Die Pfefferkörner is a German television series produced by Der Kinderkanal. The peppercorns are five friends from Hamburg: Jana Holstein Coutre, Natasha "Tascha" Jaonzäns, Philip "Fiete" Overbeck, Cem Gülec and Vivien "Vivi" Overbeck, Fiete's eight year old sister. After school, the young detectives meet at a high level of a spice warehouse of the company Overbeck & Associates, which belongs to Fiete and Vivi's parents in the first part, but is later given to Fiete and Vivi to look after. Here, in the historic warehouse district, the five friends have their headquarters. With smarts, combined delivery and support of the Internet, they find their cases here. The detectives convict polluters, animal dealers and drug smugglers. They also help each other with personal problems they encounter. Cem has lost his parents in a car accident and sometimes feels sad and lonely. Jana lives with her divorcee mother, a lawyer who is rarely at home. Natasha comes from Latvia. Her parents initially have very strict rules in terms of her education, that make Natasha unhappy. Fiete has problems showing his feelings and hides them behind grumpiness and hostility towards girls, until he falls in love with Natasha. Vivi is suffering from her role of the youngest member of the group. She believes that she must constantly struggle for recognition.

Der Kommissar is a German television series about a group of detectives of the Munich homicide squad. All 97 episodes, which were shot in black-and-white and first broadcast between 1969 and 1976, were written by Herbert Reinecker and starred Erik Ode as Kommissar Herbert Keller. Keller's assistants were Walter Grabert, Robert Heines, and Harry Klein who, in 1974, was replaced by his younger brother Erwin Klein.

A show about two Bavarian police officers, Franz Hubert and Johannes Staller, who sometimes work a bit differently. Where Franz wants to follow regulations, Johannes likes to do things his own way.

The show was meant to compete with those on West German television. To this end it was fairly successful even attracting a following in parts of West Germany which could receive Eastern TV. Its production values were high. Apart from song and dance numbers and appearances from East German celebrities, almost every broadcast featured well-known stars from the west, often after their popularity had peaked in their home countries.

Hotel Paradies is a German television series.

The shaggy poodle-bobtail mix Willy Wuff rescues two small puppies and ends up with them involuntarily in a mountain hut. Thomas also wants to spend Christmas there with his wife Hilde, his future wife Geli and his seven-year-old son Michael. The constant quarrels between the adults make things difficult for Michael until he discovers Willy and the puppies. The boy lovingly begins to look after the dogs.

Christmas is just around the corner, but Lieschen has nothing to look forward to. Unless a miracle happens, she will once again spend the festive season with her sister Mechthild in the orphanage. Wolle has lost his apprenticeship. Out of shame, he hides it from his parents and his girlfriend, who leaves him as a result. He starts drinking and joins a group of unemployed young people who are mainly interested in motorcycles and are in constant danger of going off the rails. However, Lord, his new girlfriend's distinguished pedigree dog, makes life difficult for him there. When Lord is caught by the dog catchers, Willy doesn't hesitate for a second to help him. In the end, the brave mongrel falls into the clutches of the criminals himself.
