Andrew G. Cooper is a Canadian screenwriter, director, and producer. As a filmmaker, they often integrate physical mediums such as puppetry, dance, and circus arts into their works. They’re fascinated by telling old stories in new ways, and their work embraces in-camera effects and explores genres such as speculative fiction, fantasy, and horror. As a non-binary, neurodivergent artist, Andrew is passionate about investigating themes of non-conformity and outsiders. Andrew’s award-winning film and TV projects include Windchasers, So Dark the Sky, Under the Plaza, and Strangers. As a performer, they puppeteer on The Jim Henson Company’s Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock. Andrew is a lover of astronomy and animals and currently lives in Calgary, AB.
