Christopher Stephen Welch is a former Canadian voice actor best known for providing the voice of Miles "Tails" Prower in the 1993 animated series Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. Born in Canada, Welch began his brief entertainment career as a child actor in the early 1990s. At just 10 years old, he landed his signature role as Sonic's loyal sidekick, voicing the character across 65 episodes of the syndicated series, as well as the 1996 television special Sonic Christmas Blast. He also provided additional voices for the animated series King Arthur and the Knights of Justice. Welch retired completely from show business in 1996 to focus on his education and lead a private life. For years, his whereabouts remained a mystery to the Sonic fanbase, leading to widespread online rumors that mistakenly confused him with the late American character actor Christopher Evan Welch. In the late 2010s, researchers and fans successfully located Welch, confirming he is alive, well, and working in professional sales in Vancouver, British Columbia.
