Polizeiruf 110 is a long-running German language detective television series. Balko is a German prime time television series broadcast on the private TV channel RTL. It is a police detective story with comical twists featuring two inspectors of the Dortmund police, Balko and his colleague Klaus Krapp. Balko's main characteristics are his coolness and his consistently laid-back appearance, whereas “Krappi” is a typical mama’s boy and very clumsy. The series started in 1995 and has won several television awards.

Bella Block is a long-running German detective television series starring Hannelore Hoger, first broadcast in 1994 on ZDF. In 2010 the 30th series was produced.

Soon she's convinced that Kupfer not only writes about murders, but commits them himself. She smells a smash hit and prepares to prove him guilty on the show.

The film is based on a true story about HIV-contaminated blood products in Germany in the 1980s. The brothers Ralf, Stefan and Thomas are hemophiliacs and live in constant fear of injury. When a new type of coagulant comes onto the market, they seem to be able to lead a normal life. It soon becomes apparent that a disproportionate number of hemophiliacs are contracting HIV, but the Federal Health Office remains inactive. Stefan is the first to die, but he is only diagnosed with pneumonia. While Ralf does not want to accept this, his brother Thomas refuses to accept it, as he is afraid of his family being ostracized by society if his HIV disease becomes public. This leads to a bitter argument between the brothers.
