Do we still sing the praises of folly like Erasmus, or is it trendy again to be smart? And if so, who is the smartest? Who can talk about the medals won at the Olympic Games in London, but at the same time knows who Captain Haddock is? Who knows whether Lacan was a hair growth product or a psychoanalyst and can also program their own digital television? Who has déjà vu when leafing through the Encyclopedia Britannica and when reading the interviews with the new Miss Waregem Koerse? Who, oh who, is the smartest person in Flanders, Belgium, Europe, and by extension, the world? That is determined by a fierce battle between three fellow human beings. Every day, someone is eliminated, someone who may not be the smartest, but who is perhaps cherished in their family circle because of their many other talents. The others advance and are joined by a new challenger every day.

In 'The Traitors', Staf Coppens brings together twenty famous Flemings for a psychological game filled with lies, betrayal, manipulation, and suspicion. The celebrities stay in a mysterious castle for ten days, engaging in a nail-biting battle between two camps. Yet, 'traitors' and 'loyalists' must also work together to amass the largest possible hoard of silver. Will the loyalists succeed in unmasking all the traitors, or will the traitors stay one step ahead of them?

Every episode, one interesting Belgian visits "The House" ("Het huis") for 24 hours. In this imposing house with a pool, surrounded by a forest, in an unknown location, the visitor is "locked away" from the rest of the world for 24 hours. Host Vincent Fierens, along with a former contestant and a huge fan of De Verraders (Flemish version of 'The Traitors'), analyzes all the lies, betrayals, and strategies of the previous episode. The exile and the murdered contestant also join us each week, giving us a glimpse behind the scenes or helping us see certain behaviors from a different perspective.
