Zeineb, Elyssa and Houssine, a trio unlikely to ever meet, see their fates cross paths on the night of January 14, the historic date when Ben Ali fled and the Tunisian revolution transformed the face of the nation. The individual lives of these three characters represent the frustrations, challenges, hopes and dreams of the entire country, with their tragic encounter proving to be one that will bind them together for life.

While grazing their herd in the mountains, two teenagers are attacked. Nizar, 16, is killed, while Ashraf, 14, has to take a message back to his family.

The film tells the story of a man, Aly, in need of a child, back in his native country to marry his first cousin - a marriage arranged by their respective parents.

Larger-than-life characters populate director Nejib Belkadhi’s spellbinding combination of film noir and magic realism, which follows a downtrodden orphan — now grown but still saddled with a cruel nickname — who has a reversal of fortune and takes on the thugs who control his ghetto.

Sboui lives next to his brother and mother. Many funny adventures ensue in the old building of a fortune teller as he falls in love with her daughter. Sboui works as a secretary at his brother's office, a psychotherapist.

Youssef loves his son Islam very much and raises him to learn the teachings of the Islamic religion without exaggeration or racism and leaves his wife Maryam the freedom to pray and veil until she is convinced.

As Yahia is imprisoned for killing Maryam, he serves his sentence, and decides to look for the real killer to clear his name.
