Flikken Rotterdam takes place in Rotterdam, and is after Flikken Maastricht the second Dutch spin-off of the Flemish show Flikken.

After wrecking his car in a deserted road in the middle of the forest and being found with the blood and mobile phone of his niece, successful criminal lawyer Daniel Elias can no longer remember who he is but must find a way to prove his innocence, even though he does not know whether he is guilty or not.

Victor wonders if he’s too late to join dating games in his 40s. His sister Annika, an opera singer, wonders how different life could have been after receiving a surprising medical diagnosis. Their grandmother wonders if she should end her life right away. These are people who embark on a heartfelt quest for the perfect fulfillment of life, which proves to be a near impossible task.
