Adil Ismayilov

A musical TV film about the creation of the Song Theater by Rashid Beibutov, telling humorous stories related to it.

A young boy through a period of transition. His last baby tooth, which symbolises this period, is sore. He is scared of pulling it out, of saying goodbye to his dead mother and to his childhood. No one understands him, be is deprived from material physical affection. He himself does not understand his father who has brought another woman home. He feels this is an act of betrayal towards his dead mother.

After learning that his daughter is in love with a truck driver, corrupt Housing Office director tries to make use of his service in a last smuggle operation, then break his promise and marry her to someone else. This comedy is mainly about the dark sides of the Soviet bureucracy.

The comedy mocks the vestiges of the past, which sometimes exist among educated people with kind, sympathetic and generous hearts.

The second half of the 16th century, the time of Ivan the Terrible's reign. The story of Yermak Timofeyevich, whose campaign beyond the Urals served to annex the Siberian lands to the Moscow kingdom.
