Yasmine Chouikh

Born in 1982 in Algiers, a graduate in psychology and educational sciences, Yasmine Chouikh is an actress (we saw her in DOUAR DE FEMMES by Mohamed Chouikh, 2004), journalist and television presenter. She wrote the scripts for several short films and directed two: EL BAB (2006) and EL DJINN (2010), as well as a series for television, STUDIO 27, in 2015. She is the artistic director of the International Short Film Festival of Taghit (Algeria).

The film focuses on a small village that has been attacked more often by terrorists from the surrounding mountains. While the men work, the women learn how to handle machine guns and explore the area. “Fear has armed us,” says the young woman Sabrina. But despite that fear, people get married, children come and keep watch.
