Déjame vivir is a telenovela made by Mexican TV network Televisa. This telenovela was broadcast in 1982. This is a remake of the 1969 Venezuelan soap opera Cristina starred by Marina Baura and Raul Amundaray. The reception for this telenovela was not good, in fact it was selected as the worst one of 1982.

The telenovela tells the dramatic story of Dom Pedro, a powerful and authoritarian man who opposes the presence of a Gypsy circus on his lands. In a tragic incident, he kills a member of the troupe, leaving behind an inconsolable widow, Salomé. Determined to avenge her husband's death, Salomé swaps her newborn daughter for Dom Pedro's newborn son, forging a bond rooted in secrecy and intrigue.

After a long career as a detective in the Criminal Investigation Corps of the Police of Puerto Rico, José Rafael Prado takes office work before retiring. The murder of a coworker creates a vacancy Prado quickly wants to fill in order to "retire with honor".

Tony is a karate master on television and an expert in making any woman fall in love with him. Impunity seems to be his best ally, until the owner of the cafeteria next to a recently stolen bank, hints at an inspector to unmask Tony as the culprit.

The love of two young people is prevented by the envy and resentment of a greedy man and his evil son.
