A hot summer's day. A couple's boredom develops into a heated fight. A passionate battle over their relationship begins. Love changes to hate, and a defense to erotic attraction. SUNDAY is an artistic and dramatic composition of a relationship through vivid images and strong emotions.

During the night, patrol officer Ida Sörensen hears urgent cries for help coming from the church tower. Together with her young colleague Emma, the policewoman arrives at Ribe Cathedral. There, high up in the tower, a man is threatening a young woman with a knife. Ida and Emma draw their weapons when the mighty bell suddenly rings loudly. In the heat of the moment, Emma shoots the attacker, Finn Eriksson, causing the victim, Bente Bruun, to fall to her death. For Inspector Frieda Olsen, the case is closed before it has even begun. However, Ida soon begins to doubt the explanation that it was a foiled rape attempt. Ida soon discovers that Bente, a young investigative journalist, had been feeling threatened for days. While Ida and her colleague Magnus search for a notebook hidden by Bente, the dubious Konrad Gram and his assistant Viggo try to get to it first. Without realizing it, Ida puts herself in danger.

Weimar, 1921. The life of 20-year-old Lotte Brendel seems to be predetermined. Her father sees her as a future wife and mother on the side of a man who is to take over the parental carpentry business. But the idiosyncratic Lotte joins a group of young artists against the will of her family, applies at the Bauhaus and is accepted. The Weimar Bauhaus, under the direction of the visionary Walter Gropius, aspires not only to combine arts and crafts, but also to find the place for the "New Man". In the student Paul Seligmann Lotte finds a supporter and her great love.

A contemporary interpretation of an old Greek myth. The picture 'Hylas and the Nymphs', painted by J.W. Waterhouse in 1896 has come to life: The body of a young man floats in a lily pond. Three young female suspects are found and interrogated - the nymphs of our generation. They are vulgar, mendacious and innocent, and they love it. Lolita goes anarchy.

Maike is now Mike. But the revelation of multiple explosive truths does not exactly render this dinner with friends the ideal evening for coming out.

But it soon becomes clear that there is much more beneath the surface than meets the eye. One night together becomes an act of revelation for Nick and Klara. A night that reveals how fragile the stories we tell ourselves and believe are.
