A Christmas film in which Mädi gets back her governess Juliane, who had resigned because of her love for Mädi’s father.
Movie7.0ComedyThis 1938 film by Mario Camerini is the German version of a previously-made film by the same director. However, unlike the previous film, this one isn't quite as serious. A libertine gets married, but is free to carry out his adventures in this marriage of convenience. Eventually, however, he will discover that the marriage is more than something convenient and will lead, surprisingly, to something he never expected.

In this tangled case, Webbs is called in to solve a string of alleged suicides. The case is very opaque - nothing is what it seems at first glance. Are the suicides really dead? Webbs initially suspects an Indian servant of a nobleman, but thanks to Stuart's investigation, he is proven innocent. The other exotic characters appearing in the story all seem quite opaque and devious, as if they were in league with evil per se. Finally, in a dark vault, there is a showdown: the seemingly petrified dead, lined up like in a wax museum, suddenly awaken to new life in front of their alleged murderer!
Movie10.0DocumentaryDramaBlood and Soil (German: Blut und Boden) refers to the ideology focussing on a concept of ethnicity based on descent (Blood) and homeland (Soil). It celebrates the relationship of a people to the land that they occupy and cultivate and places high esteem on the virtues of the bucolic (as opposed to urban) living. From this propaganda film, we learn, how hard it is to be a peasant when liberals rule the state. A family of peasants is forced to sell their property and run away to a big city, where they are forced to live in the poverty. Thankfully when the Nazis take power, they may finally come back and live a happy life. Besides the main plot, there is also educational elements here: Germans are informed how few of them will remain in 2050 year if they don't start a mass reproduction.
