TV7.9ComedyRTL Samstag Nacht was a comedy show, which ran from 6 November 1993 to 23 May 1998 on the German TV network RTL. RTL Samstag Nacht was the first major comedy show in German television, created after the example of the long-running American show Saturday Night Live and broadcast late on Saturday night. It helped comedy in German television to a breakthrough and was a model for several later comedy shows. Karl Ranseier was a recurring character featured in fake news reports telling about his death at the end of each episode. The name Karl Ranseier has become a catchphrase in Germany that has led to its own joke category of Ranseiers which are in widespread usage outside of the comedy origin.

Movie5.9ComedyLukas Maler is a butcher. Albeit more out of necessity than out of passion: As the “Karajan with the scalpel”, his vocation was always forensic medicine. When he accidently destroyed all evidence against the “24-hour-killer”, his career as a coroner was done for. And not far from it was his marriage with his great love Diana, whom he could not offer anything anymore as a broken man. But Lukas gets a second chance when once again a serial killer terrifies the city because the murders resemble those of the “24-hour-killer”. Diana – who has ascended to head of the forensic institute in the meantime – knows that only the best one can solve the case. But he is not available. And so, she gets the second-best one: the most over-qualified butcher in town…

Sex is the defining theme of his life—it made Oswalt Kolle successful and famous as both an author and a film producer. In the 1960s and 70s, beginning with his book *Dein Kind, das unbekannte Wesen* (Your Child: The Unknown Being), he embarked on a mission to liberate the German people from a repressed and old-fashioned approach to eroticism. His goal was sexual enlightenment, and he became its standard-bearer. Yet, even at the age of nearly 80, Oswalt Kolle continues to participate—with a spirited, combative energy—in public discourse through lectures, talk shows, and books, addressing topics such as sex in old age, homosexuality, and, most recently, assisted dying.
