Masaatsu Naito successfully completes Sankin-kotai (required ritual to visit the shogun). On his way home, he hears that an insurrection by peasants has taken place in his hometown of Yunagaya. Masaatsu Naito knows that it is a counterattack by Matsudaira. He returns to Yunagaya, but finds that his castle is gone.

An old couple, their only son, the son's wife, a young man and his lover live peacefully in a village. Then, a terrifying earthquake strikes that causes a nearby nuclear station to explode. The residents must evacuate, but the family lives on a farm, with only half of the area designated as an evacuation area.

Asuka Goda is a 40-year-old pastry chef who runs a sweets store. She works with pastry chef Seiya Hanada, who is younger than her, and Kenichi Gonda, who wants to become a pastry chef. One day, Seiya Hanada confesses to Asuka Goda about his feelings for her. Her situation brings back bad memories to what happened 5 years earlier. At that time, Asuka Goda was in an affair with store owner Junji Awai and also in a relationship with gym trainer Shunsuke Nomura. Asuka Goda decides to go to mysterious "Clinic Love Doc." The clinic lets people know everything about love with a gene test.

Miyamatsu, who works as a cable-car operator, is also a film extra. Through his different characters he has been living the life of a stranger, only playing that part. Finally he comes face to face with his own life, the one he had lost.

Taku Shinjo spins this rural drama about ancient taboos and encroaching modernity. Takamine (Gitan Otsuru) is a big-city workaholic sent to a small remote island to seal a business deal. He soon makes his acquaintance with Takako (Mitsuko Baisho), the widowed daughter of the island's chief. She lives alone with her crazed son who is kept Jane Eyre-style chained to a stake. One moon-lit night, their mutual attraction boils over, resulting in a naked, passionate roll on the beach.

Igarashi Kozue, a nurse at a Tokyo university hospital, feels bored with her job despite her experience. Yamazaki Natsumi, a younger nurse, is enthusiastic. Shibata Yuichi, a soccer student, is admitted with a fracture and a tumour, facing potential amputation. Igarashi helps Yamazaki support Yuichi, but Yamazaki resigns due to lost confidence. Yuichi’s frustration leads to a misunderstanding, causing him and Igarashi to resign. A soccer match for former cancer patients, organised by Professor Oiwa, helps Yuichi regain hope.

Wife in former life plagues husband as ghost in the present

Hongo is soon thirty years old and is wondering whether it will happen for him or he should find another career path. Additional pressure is building up because he wants to marry Miyo, his girlfriend. When the couple visit Miyo's parents Hongo commits the mistake of claiming being the manager of a popular ramen restaurant, which will soon be featured on television. Needless to say Miyo's parents decide to pay a visit. Hongo's acting chops are really needed now, as are his friends in the industry.

Three childhood friends from a small town arrive in Tokyo, only to be consumed by "devilish" obsessions, from desire and debt to prostitution, drugs, sexual violence, and manipulative cults, pushing their dreams and friendship to the breaking point.

Tsukiko Otonashi is a fashionista who is too beautiful to be a detective. She is also intrigued by urban legends so much so that she believes all crimes are somehow linked to these legends. She even conducts her investigations in such a way as to prove them to be true. Tsukiko also likes to make use of whatever she can. She especially likes to enlist the help of crime lab officer Hitoro Katsuura, who happens to have a crush on her. Many other unique characters will make appearances as she investigates the crimes related to urban legends, using odd and exquisite techniques.

Set in present day Tokyo, Shishio Homare works as a freelancer crime consultant. From an early age, Shishio Homare has been fascinated with how people become criminals and in original sin. He is a genius, but he also has an impulse to commit crimes. Shishio Homare works on cases which interests him among police or customer requests. Meanwhile, Junichi Wakamiya is a psychiatrist. He is smart and cool-headed. Due to a case, Junichi Wakamiya gets involved with Shishio Homare. At first, Junichi Wakamiya thinks Shishio Homare is ignorant and arrogant, but, as they work together, Junichi Wakamiya gets comfortable with Shishio Homare.

Set in the 1990's, high school student Ayu lives with her mother and grandmother in Fukuoka. She works as a model, but, to pursue an acting career, she goes to Tokyo with her grandmother. While attending a high school, she picks up acting work, but only minor roles. One day, Ayu meets Masa, who is the executive director of record label A Victory. He decides to make Ayu into a singer. According to Masa, Ayu prepares to make her debut as a singer. Meanwhile, she encounters jealousy from rivals at her record label. Trusting Masa, Ayu endures her problems. She also develops feelings for Masa and Masa also holds feelings for her.

Papa to Nat-chan is a drama about a young girl who matures from a high school student into a wife. Goro Shimura lost his wife nine years ago. Since then, he has lived with Natsumi. This comedy depicts Goro's struggles and Natsumi's journey to marriage.

Amano Yoshihiko works at the giant Mizunami Bank. Trusted by the president, he is put in charge of hiding 700 million yen worth of bad debt. For the sake of the bank and the president, he puts all his effort into taking care of the matter, but he encounters many obstacles, including an ambitious politician and his secretary, a hostess club run by the former president's mistress, and even his own colleagues. Meanwhile, as Amano becomes more involved in the problem, his own personal life is falling apart.

The three girls start to live together. The two boys in the next room are interested in them. They are all 20 years old. What do love, sexuality and marriage mean to them? This drama shows what ordinary 20 years old people usually experience.

Miyoko and Yusuke love each other. But Yusuke is told to work in Hokkaido where is far from Tokyo for a year. They cannot meet often. There appear another woman and man in front of each of them. They almost lose confidence to keep their relationship but finally they make sure of their love.
