The Klemmers and the Neuberts live in a two-family house. The day before their driving test, Egon Klemmer and Bruno Neubert secretly buy a small blue Saporoshez from Ms. Stepper. Buying a car triggers turbulent entanglements, primarily due to Egon, who uses the little blue man for a secret jaunt.

At the end of the 1950s, the production of optics in the German Democratic Republic has reached top quality and instigates interest in the West. When national demand rises strongly and at the same time the export to South America heavily decreases, the Volkspolizei - the GDR police force - starts to look into the case. Two seemingly unrelated cases are the starting point for the investigation by second lieutenant Schellenberg of the department for optics racketeering: An old woman who was arrested in the Berlin city railway for trying to smuggle a pair of binoculars to West Berlin, and a dead person in an area of allotments who was involved in obscure dealings with optical devices.

The doctor has prescribed Herbert plenty of exercise in the fresh air. Hunting is his new hobby. The pride of his wife Margot has a sudden end when it comes out that leisure activity is anything but hunting passion.

Frieda and August Walkowiak celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary. However, the marriage has been in crisis for some time. August wants to spend his old age in peace, while Frieda has no intention of giving up her position as LPG chairman. The problems in the countryside are huge, collectivization is not progressing fast enough, even comrade Heinrich Rantsch is clinging to his individual farm. Frieda fights for progress, even in her private life, because not only her burden but also her higher position is a thorn in her husband's side. During the wedding anniversary celebrations, Frieda is called to the LPG. This is the cause of the family quarrel that has been in the air for a long time. August demands her resignation. In vain - and so he moves in with Rantsch. Their daughter Helga also leaves the house because of the tensions. Frieda collapses. When she is in hospital, August comes to his senses.

The aircraft mechanic Hans Bertram is an incorrigible apron hunter who boasts that he can get around any woman. He even makes bets on it. But then he falls in love with the new colleague, the budding engineer Helga Nonnert. He fails to conquer them by storm. After many tangles and fun episodes, she manages to heal him of his gallant frivolity.

A high-rise building like any other: the tenants lived a "normal life", went to work, came home and paid no further attention to their neighbors. Until the day when Bombach, a master painter, received a letter in the post that not only shook up his family life, but also that of his fellow tenants.

Polizeiruf 110 is a long-running German language detective television series. The first episode was broadcast 27 June 1971 in the German Democratic Republic, and after the dissolution of Fernsehen der DDR the series was picked up by ARD. It was originally created as a counterpart to the West German series Tatort, and quickly became a public favorite.

The show was meant to compete with those on West German television. To this end it was fairly successful even attracting a following in parts of West Germany which could receive Eastern TV. Its production values were high. Apart from song and dance numbers and appearances from East German celebrities, almost every broadcast featured well-known stars from the west, often after their popularity had peaked in their home countries.
