USSR, November, 1941. Based on the account by Vasiliy Koroteev this is the story of Panifilov's Twenty-Eight, a group of twenty-eight Red Army soldiers commanded by General Ivan Panfilov, that stopped the advance on Moscow of a column of fifty-four Nazi tanks of the 11th Panzer Division for several days. Though lightly armed they fight tirelessly and defiantly, with uncommon bravery and unwavering dedication, to protect Moscow and their Motherland.

In the center of the story are three main characters - Lieutenant Colonel Soshnikov, Captain Muravyov and Major Zakharov. Three ages, three different characters, three different destinies, which are destined to meet at the Khmeimim military base.

The action takes place during the Great Patriotic War. The protagonist, a Siberian hunter Gavriil Sobinov, volunteers for the front after learning that his son Semyon, a young lieutenant, is missing. Gavriil wants to fights the enemy and find his son, but instead of the front lines, he finds himself in a supply platoon. He proves himself a hero in his very first combat and, after training at the sniper school, gets to the front lines. Gavriil is made commander of the sniper group. He continues the search for his son. The story of a German sniper Werner develops in parallel. He also ends up at the front with his son Dietrich fighting alongside him. A clash between the sniper fathers, whom fate is inexorably bringing together, is inevitable...

Lenfilm's most recent major production spins a kind of historical fantasy based on real incidents that's full of ominous implications for today. In the center of the story, a doctor Oleg Korzun works in one of the medical institutions of Belarus and is going to go to work in Germany. However, Oleg's plans change when he receives a patient who needs a heart and lung transplant at the same time.
