The series revolves around a group of lawyers and legal personnel with stories interwoven between their personal lives and the court cases in which they’re engaged. This drama is Bobby Au Yeung's TV debut.

Police Cadet '84 was a TV series which included such stars in TVB as Tony Leung, Maggie Cheung, and notably, Carina Lau. The story centered on a couple of young "cadets" in the Police Cadet School. The Criminal Investigator II is a 1996 Hong Kong police procedural television drama. Produced by Jonathan Chik and edited by Chow Yuk-ming and Chiu Ching-yung, the drama is a TVB production and the direct sequel to 1995's The Criminal Investigator. The story follows a team of investigators from the Organized Crime and Triad Bureau unit of the Royal Hong Kong Police Force.

The story tells that "Fang Family Tea" was a famous tea of its generation, but unfortunately the family fell into decline. Its descendant, Fang Youwei, made a living by farming. He was as close as brothers with his good friends Han Niu and Shi Chun, and the three men became sworn brothers. The three later went to work at the Song family's large tea plantation, experiencing trials and tribulations in friendship and love.
