A movie theater in the suburbs of Vienna. At the end of the show, a corpse is suddenly sitting in the auditorium. The mysterious tie murderer has struck again. Together with her friend Schorsch - the head waiter of the "Nachtigall" - the cinema owner Hermine wants to get rid of the "business-damaging" corpse inconspicuously. Mutual suspicions begin among the patrons of the restaurant.

Sophie "inherits" her uncle's preserved whale and finds out that whoever sleeps in the whale's belly with her will be granted one wish, causing chaos and hatred in the village.

Nana Iaschwili, a teacher from East Europe, wants to emigrate to America to start a new life. After landing in Vienna, the authorities notice her falsified visa and arrest her. Nana, threatened with deportation, would prefer anything except being sent back and escapes. She must keep on the move constantly. The police are hot on her trail. Together with other illegal aliens, Nana, alias "Suzie Washington", flees to the so-called "green border", the no-man's-land between East and West. The police, cows and lonely men keep getting in her way.

A filmmaker from Austria experiences in a refugee camp in Serbia first hand the distress, anxiety but also hope of a group of refugees from Syria and their longing for a better life in Europe.

After his handler is killed, police dog Rex teams up with recently-divorced inspector Richard Moser to investigate crimes and solve mysteries on the streets of Vienna. And they sometimes get help from their two-legged friend, Inspector Stockinger.
