Amidst the fall of princely states in post-independence India, the friendship between Vikram, who comes from an aristocratic family, and a peasant is tested. Vikram turns vengeful after his brother is killed in a peasant colony.

Raj Kumar is a wealthy businessman and dislikes everything ugly. When his wife, Kamla, becomes pregnant and gives birth to an ugly son, he asks the attending Dr. Mathur to inform his wife that their child was still-born. Dr. Mathur places the child in the hands of Rahmat and his wife, Naseeban, who welcome him with open arms. But misfortune follows them, as the child, who is named Pyare, accidentally burns their dwelling down, killing Naseeban. Rahmat then re-locates to his village when he teaches Pyare the skills required to play musical instruments and sing. Years later, Rahmat passes away, and informs Pyare that he is really a Hindu. Dr. Mathur fills the rest of the blanks for Pyare, and arranges a song and dance play and hopes that Raj will overcome his dislike for his now-grown son.

Gopal is constantly haunted by the tragedy that took place in his childhood. His youthful elder sister Sita and his younger brother Jagan were abducted by villainous Gulshan and his men. Gopal's mother dies with this shock, before innocent Gopal's eyes. This tragedy leaves a deep and an unerasable scar on Gopal's heart and mind. Revenge becomes his motto.

Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is a 1954 Hindi devotional biopic film produced and directed by Vijay Bhatt. The film is about the 15th century "medieval Vaishnav poet saint" and social reformer of Bengal, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, whom many considered an Avatar of Krishna.

Widowed Bhavanidevi rules her palatial home with an iron hand. Nothing is permitted to be touched or moved without her permission and approval. She has two sons, and one daughter. She dotes on her daughter, Shobha, and son-in-law, Khubchand. When her eldest son marries a young woman, Sheela, Bhavani is enraged because Sheela did not bring in enough dowry. When Durga insists on living there, she is permitted to do so, not knowing that she has now entered a household where she will be another abused and submissive slave to her dominating mother-in-law.

Justice Diwan lives in a palatial house with his wife, Sharda, and a son named Rajan. Bashir is in love with Reshma and hopes to marry her soon. Before that could happen, Dr. John, Bashir's senior, gets killed and the police find Bashir there with a knife in his hand. Bashir is arrested and taken to Court, where Justice Diwan finds him guilty and orders that he be hanged. Then a man named Bhurre gets killed, and the evidence points to Rajan, who is also arrested and produced before Justice Diwan, who also finds him guilty, and sentences him to death. Rahim then finds that his house had been burned down and is out on the street. Then the unexpected happens, Sharda is killed, and Diwan finds out that Rahim had been seen outside his house. Will Rahim be the next accused to be sentenced to death by Diwan?

Widowed Radha lives in rural India in the 1960s, along with two sons: Bharat and Puran. While she would like to educate her sons and ensure that they lead good lives, she cannot do so on her own, and must sacrifice the career of one son so that the second can achieve this goal. Bharat sacrifices everything to educate his brother Puran. However, Puran turns into a greedy man and gets involved in drug trafficking in order to make money.

Sunita is a young woman who ends up married to the wrong man, Rajan. Along the way, the caravan crosses paths with a group of gypsies that includes some causal young men. Sunita soon falls in love with Mohan but Nisha is attracted to Mohan and this puts Sunita in danger again to make matters worse Rajan has conducted a manhunt to find Sunita either by hook or by crook.

Wealthy Jaishankar meets and falls in love with Aarti, successfully woos her and agrees to meet with her dad to discuss their marriage. On the way there he ironically runs over him, killing him instantly. Guilt-ridden, he attempts to make amends to look after Aarti, her brother, Pappu, and sister, Mala, but conceals the fact that he was responsible for their father's death. Things get worse after Aarti not only discovers the truth, but also witnesses him getting intimate with a cabaret dancer, Rita. Then Jaishankar is first disowned by his father after the family find out that he had sired a son from Rita, and then subsequently arrested by the Police for killing Rita.
