It could have been a wonderful dinner that Stephan and his wife Elisabeth have invited to their home in Bonn. But when Thomas announces that he and his pregnant girlfriend Anna want to name their son Adolf, the hosts and family friend René are already sick of the appetiser. They hiss truths in each other's faces that would have been better left unsaid in favour of a harmonious get-together.
