What was planned as a cosy hot air balloon flight over the canyons ends with an emergency landing on the remote mountain ridge of Dragons Rock. Here the three detectives discover the Institute of the Colourphonics, a mysterious orchestra whose performances are experiences for all the senses. Justus, Peter and Bob soon realise that they are not wanted at the institute, and before they know it they are involved in a new case. What secret is Yamada, the mysterious director of the orchestra, hiding? What does synaesthesia, the strange ability to link the senses, have to do with it? And why has the gifted organist of the Colourphonics disappeared without a trace?
