When cynical New York City radio host Pepper Sweeney breaks the heart of an important executive’s daughter, he is shipped to a sister station in Nebraska to serve out his suspension. Certain that this will be a boring assignment in a boring little town, Pepper settles in for a long winter. But when he meets the unapologetically romantic Samantha McCoy their on-air war of words catches the attention of the whole town who wait to see if the romance of the season will spark romance with these two opposites.
