Jeff Lesquint, son of an undertaker, has been confronted since childhood with what many consider a "gift", but which he considers to be a real curse: when he finds himself face to face with the dead, he is capable of interact with them. Having never wanted to work with his father in the family funeral home, he became a police officer but his successful career as a cop was put on hold after he shot a dead body at point-blank range.
