The introductory screens set the background of the film: during the World War II, Estonia was German occupation of Estonia during World War II, who drafted most of the men into the Wehrmacht, and then Occupation of the Baltic states, who considered soldiers of the German army criminals. Following the war, the Soviets incorporated Estonia into the Soviet Union.
