8x45 - Austria Mystery

8x45: a trip into the unknown, a journey to the limits of human imagination. Eight films tell of human and superhuman abilities, inexplicable phenomena and borderline experiences. Eight extraordinary, mysterious films by exceptionally talented Austrian filmmakers. As an opportunity for creative talent, the ORF and the Austrian Film Institute launched the film project “8x45” (eight 45-minute TV films) in April 2004. The aim of the initiators was to discover young talents and to enable them to enter professional filmmaking, which is often difficult. From 155 submissions, the ORF and Film Institute selected the best twelve exposés, which were then developed into scripts. The twelve finalists now became “8x45”: These eight works were filmed in 2005, broadcast on ORF in 2006 and presented on two DVDs.
