The show earned 8 awards at the "TV y Novelas" award celebration, becoming the highest-awarded production of the 2009 season.

The series premiered on Univision in the United States on May 13, 2019, and later aired on Las Estrellas in Mexico from August 26 to December 17, 2019. The story follows Yamelí Montoya, a gifted songwriter who is betrayed, wrongfully imprisoned, and presumed dead. After receiving a new identity through a witness protection program, she returns as music producer Lari Andrade to seek justice against those who destroyed her life.
