The Painted Veil

In the 1920s, an earnest, bookish microbiologist marries an upper-class woman for the wrong reasons. For his job, they relocate to a remote village in China which is ravaged by a deadly epidemic. Their experience brings the couple closer, but may not heal all their wounds.
