Ballada o Januszku

40-year-old widow Genia Smoliwąs is a factory cleaner. The husband died in Oświęcim and she herself struggles with raising her son Januszek. She is at peace with her life were it not for the troubles caused by her son. Januszek does not want to go to school, he is in the company of hooligans until he ends up in a reformatory. After an attempt to escape, he ends up in a maximum security facility. Blinded in her motherly love, Gienia devotes herself more and more to Januszek.
