Missie Davis is a young woman who, although working as a school teacher, spends lots of time reading. Her father has a near-fatal accident but is saved by a mysterious stranger with a troubled past. When she meets a rich young man who is just like the heroes in the novels she reads, she is torn between them and has to decide what is really important.
