Rianne and Freek have three adopted children. A stable family, until the eldest son calls into question the love of his foster parents and starts a search for his roots in Belgium. That disturbs the peace in the family. Freek still manages to appease the conflicts somewhat, but saves his feelings. This is at the expense of his health. Rianne does not know whether she can keep the family together on her own.
