Ulrich Schulz is a teacher at a Berlin school. He is popular with his students because he is different from the other teachers. He is married to Ruth, their children are Christian, Susanne and Ricky. Occasionally the family has to worry about annoying aunt Hedwig. Schulzen's best friends are the innkeeper Otto Janitz and his wife Herta.
