Assassins: A Film Concerning Rimbaud

1985 · Released · 43 min

Todd Haynes's first film, Assassins takes as its subject the violent love between poets Arthur Rimbaud and Paul Verlaine. Presaging the concerns of "Poison", and "Velvet Goldmine", it's a Godardian essay that cannily plays with the artifice of its own student-film limitations.
