Struggling to make ends meet, working in their deceased parents' out-of-the-way corner shop, the poor orphan, Agni, and her younger brother, Petrakis, dream of a better life, and a brighter future. Before long, the unexpected night-time visit of the handsome and affluent youth, Aggelos, will lead to an ardent whirlwind romance, straight out of the fairy tales Agni reads to her brother.
