Markus and Anna Voss' small winery is on the verge of ruin. In order to preserve his life's work, Markus asks his half-brother Paul to pay him the dividend from his family's large corporation. But when Paul refuses, Markus suffers a heart attack. While Anna fears for her husband's life, Paul awaits his death in order to inherit Markus' share in the company.
