Chronicle of the life of the inhabitants of the Bavarian town of Sachrang during the years of the Napoleonic wars. Peter Müllner has gone to the great city of Munich to study there, and is seen as a rebel and reformer when he returns to town. Not all villagers agree with him and his modern ideas.
