Eva Horn was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment in a circumstantial trial for the poisoning of her husband, the banker Lewandowski, which she did not commit. After five years, at the instigation of her lawyer Dr. Burgmüller granted her a week's leave for the first time. Eva uses this free time to find the real culprit, supported by Burgmüller.
