The series portrays the everyday problems of a group of high school friends, mostly from the middle class, who used to gather around the low wall in Piazza Mancini, in the Flaminio district of Rome. The themes range from first teenage loves and school-related issues to more challenging social topics such as racism, violence in stadiums, abortion, homosexuality, AIDS, drugs, prostitution, begging, the exploitation of immigrants, the loneliness of the elderly, and loan sharking.
