The final segment and the title of the film, 'Polosa vezeniya' (Streak of Luck), tells the story of a member of staff at a research institute who is offered the job of department head but has second thoughts when he discovers the previous boss was unfairly dismissed.

Accidentally, Kolya witnesses two space pirates who arrive from Saturn and later try to steal a device called a "Mielophone" (which can read thoughts) from Alisa Seleznyova - a girl that performs experiments with this device and animals. Kolya manages to save the device from the pirates and brings it back to the 20th century. But both pirates and Alisa get there too. Fitil is a popular Soviet/Russian television satirical/comedy short film series which ran for about 500 episodes. Some of the episodes were aimed at children, and were called Фитилёк, Fitilyok, Little Fuse. Each issue contained from the few short segments: documentary, fictional and animated ones. Directed by various artists, including Leonid Gaidai who presented his famous trio of Nikulin, Vitsin and Morgunov into the cast. It was called in USSR as "the anecdotes from the Soviet government".

Alice Seleznyova, a girl from the future, finds herself 1984. Following her are the space pirates Krys and Joker Y, with most nasty pirate's intentions. Coming to her help is an ordinary boy, Kolya, and his friends from 6th grade. Based on Kir Bulychyov's 1077 novel "One Hundred Years Ahead."

Early 20th century. Two village boys, brothers Semyon and Pavel, work as servants for a Moscow merchant. They face harsh exploitation and hard labor. The brothers' paths diverge. Unable to endure the merchant's abuse, Pavel leaves for a factory, becomes a worker, and later a revolutionary. Semyon remains in service. In the post-revolutionary period, Semyon, having served at the front and returned to the village, joins the kulaks and brutally cracks down on representatives of the Soviet government, becoming the leader of a gang of "badgers" hiding in the forests. A Red Army detachment led by Pavel is sent to fight the bandits.

The plot revolves around the residents of a communal apartment in Moscow, particularly the Yakushev and Banykin families. He comes to a small provincial town and begins to proposition the local landowners. These landowners are revealed to be so petty and avaricious that not even Chichikov’s amazing offer can be worked to his advantage on them. Some stall, some refuse for no obvious reasons, some promise and then renege, and others want “in on the deal.” In the end, Chichikov, having concluded that the landowners are a hopeless lot, leaves for other regions.
