This TV movie focuses on an average East German citizen, who accidentally becomes a Cold War victim. Shortly before his wedding day, East German Stephan Busemann goes to West Germany to attend his brother Hubert's fiftieth birthday. At the same time, his son Martin and his daughter-in-law Bettina flee their communist home country in a balloon, what Stephan didn't know. As the East Germans believe he helped them to escape, he isn't allowed to return, so Martin writes a letter to the country's leader Erich Honecker. However, now the West Germans think that Stephan is a spy.

The four young snoopers Tim, Karl, Kloesschen and Gaby by chance discover a hidden cave near an old castle. In it there's a board that seems to describe the way to a legendary sword. They ask their history teacher Schindler about it. He forbids them further actions, but secretly continues investigations with help of two ruthless criminals. But our young heros don't give up on an adventure so fast...

A day trip to the desert turns into a nightmare for a group of German tourists

The story of a male friendship in the tough show business of entertainer Frank Haller, a man full of charm and wit, and his spirited manager Jochen Below. They were at the top of the ladder of success. But when Haller's wife died of loneliness, his success left him too. Below even went to prison for his friend. But now he is free again and will take his chance.

Externally, they could be twins. But really only outwardly: the unemployed, disillusioned toolmaker Erwin Strunz and the dynamic, power-infested Prime Minister Uwe Achimsen. There's the inevitable confusion - and everyone thinks Erwin is for Prime Minister Achimsen. Rainer Kaufmann staged the fast-paced confusion comedy with Wolfgang Stumph, Katja Riemann and Katharina Thalbach in the leading roles.

Bernd and Daniela Weigel not only make a good deal with the sale of a building plot, but also make the acquaintance of the happy buyers. The couple Viktor and Svetlana Galkin want to finally build a house for their whole family on the newly acquired 1000 square meters in a prime location. In the summer of 1985, an American movie also ignites young people in the GDR: "Beatstreet" ensures full cinemas and subsequently a new phenomenon in the streets - breakdancing! The 18-year-old Frank is electrified and founds the "Break Beaters" with like-minded friends in Dessau. The troupe dances on the streets and soon forms the spearhead of the breakdance movement in the GDR. But sooner than they would have liked, the street dancers came to the attention of the state. And they like to keep control over the leisure activities of their youth. Because what the GDR cannot ban, it tries to control - ergo the project must become socialist! So breakdancing becomes "acrobatic show dancing" and the "Break Beaters" are built up as a showcase troupe, sent around the country and soon celebrated like rock stars. But fame comes at a price and Frank slowly realizes that the price is pretty high.

In 1991, the mood in East Germany is gloomy. Unemployment and poverty among the population in the GDR are high. Many people blame the Treuhand for the misery. Werner Stankowski, a trained computer scientist and computer specialist, is unable to find work despite hundreds of applications. His wife considers him a failure and leaves him for a rich man from the West. Only his best friend Rudi, who is also unemployed, sticks by him. Rudi's wife Gerda keeps the family afloat with a poorly performing erotic mail order business. Werner then gets a job interview with a computer company in Munich. The Wessis denounce Werner during the interview and humiliate him with Stasi slogans.....

Shortly before the election, Prime Minister Achimsen has a heart attack. Double Erwin Strunz has to step in. While the politician is treated in hospital, Strunz establishes a policy for the little people...
