Anna Razi, wife of Tony Niven and daughter of merchant Theoharis Razi, travels with her friend, Nicole, from London, back to Greece. There, Anna plans to meet Alexandros Melas in Aegina, a man with whom she has been chatting for a year via Facebook. The two young people live a few passionate nights, until Alexandros disappears, leaving no evidence behind. The discovery of a dead woman in his room makes him a wanted murderer. Anna's disappearance a few days later will cause confusion among her relatives.

Konstadinos Markoras is a director who owns a high profile drama school. Marina Kountouratou is a beautiful woman who hosts a silly television show. Seeking to improve her image, Marina decides to go for studies at Konstadino's school, so that people will stop thinking she's a dumb blonde. Proinos Kafes was a television daytime show aired by ANT1 in Greece during the period 1991-2009. Though it has received low ratings in the past years, it was one of the longest running and well known shows in Greece. The show consisted of different segments which included fashion shows, game and prizes, interviews, and live music from Greek and foreign artists. A young female character, Nikki Douka, from Samothraki, is sailing to the U.S. to fulfill a marriage contract and save her family honor. Her skills as a seamstress keep her busily sewing throughout the voyage to alter wedding dresses for the third-class voyagers. But along the way, she meets a young American photographer who is returning from the Middle East where he was snapping shots of the war in Smyrna, 1922. Her honesty, pride, and beauty attract the attention of the American who falls in love with her. Tribulations abound during the voyage, following the dramas of several unfortunate young women upon whom nasty characters preyed, as Nikki struggles with her feelings for the photographer.

Philippides does a sterling job as the long-suffering Pandelis and his vicissitudes leave one with a warm feeling. Unlikely though the scenario may seem, one wishes it to be true, thus giving hope for the many Pandelides out there who find themselves contemplating life in their middle years with regret and disappointment.
