Peter Hartung, a student at the technical college, just wanted to take his little brother Paul to boarding school. On the way there, his friend Hans Werner tries to persuade him to swap roles. Peter wouldn't dream of going to school for Hans, but only changes his mind when he makes the acquaintance of Christa, who works at the neighboring fashion school. He has no idea that Christa has just broken off her engagement to Dr. Werner, his future literature teacher. The lessons with his jealous ex-fiancé turn into a gauntlet, but this does nothing to dampen the general good mood. Brother Paul also causes a lot of excitement. Not a day goes by without him plotting a prank. Within the sacred school walls, the wildest boarding school comedy since the introduction of compulsory education unfolds - explosions, police action and fire alarms - but principal Dr. Schwabmann takes it all in his stride.

The revolutionaries are shocked; and his days in Vienna are numbered.

She is on holiday, and to his confusion and bewilderment Andy finds that her twin sister works in Hanna's hotel. The comedy of errors that arises keeps Andy on tenterhooks until he finds his true love in sister Renate.

Knieriem, the stout shoemaker’s apprentice, spends his windfall on endless drinking and revelry, embracing the carefree life without regrets.

Eva wants to become a singer and ends up in the Mambo bar, where behind the scenes is traded with other goods than talents.

Fanny Hobichler, a young promising actress, moves to Vienna in the 1920s in order to pursue her big break. She draws inspiration and seeks help from the popular stage actor Albert Kortz who once started out from the same provincial town as she did and was a close friend of her late father. Kortz, however, dreams of retiring as he is tired of his fame and having to deal with the short-tempered theatre director Jason. Together, they try to outwit Jason.
