A small Swedish village, Högboträsk, is so peaceful that crime is nonexistent. The police spend their shifts drinking coffee, eating hot dogs and chasing down runaway cows. This is all well and good for the village's own police, but the police management board wants to discontinue the local police force for lack of crime.

Tobias is the new, idealistic priest in a suburb but he soon learns that his flock is quite uninterested in Christianity. However, he befriends Carolina, a chain smoking woman his age, wheelchair-bound since birth. It is opposites attract although their backgrounds are different.

So Daniel gets given the poisoned chalice of leadership in his place, just to end up as amoral and platitudinous as the man and values he initially stood up against.

When 68-year old Karin clears out her late husband’s wardrobe, she happens to find his pyjama. She decides to sleep in it, but the pyjama itches against her body, making her night sleepless. Karin’s daughter insists that she should move on, but together with her home care, Karin instead starts to look for a solution.

Rolf Allan Mjunstedt is the most famous, and according to himself, the best tram driver in Gothenburg. He is married to Bettan who he loves deeply, despite all of their conflicts.

Two young girls, becoming women, share their thoughts and experience. One of the girls starts dating a much older married man.
