She is the daughter of English-French actress and singer Jane Birkin and French singer and actor Serge Gainsbourg. She has acted in many films, including collaborations with Lars von Trier, and received two César Awards and Cannes Film Festival's Best Actress Award 2009 for the movie Antichrist, among many nominations.
