Do we still sing the praises of folly like Erasmus, or is it trendy again to be smart? And if so, who is the smartest? Who can talk about the medals won at the Olympic Games in London, but at the same time knows who Captain Haddock is? Who knows whether Lacan was a hair growth product or a psychoanalyst and can also program their own digital television? Who has déjà vu when leafing through the Encyclopedia Britannica and when reading the interviews with the new Miss Waregem Koerse? Who, oh who, is the smartest person in Flanders, Belgium, Europe, and by extension, the world? That is determined by a fierce battle between three fellow human beings. Every day, someone is eliminated, someone who may not be the smartest, but who is perhaps cherished in their family circle because of their many other talents. The others advance and are joined by a new challenger every day.

Every episode, one interesting Belgian visits "The House" ("Het huis") for 24 hours. In this imposing house with a pool, surrounded by a forest, in an unknown location, the visitor is "locked away" from the rest of the world for 24 hours. They are interviewed, dissected, confronted by the interviewer.

These provocative questions form the basis of Over 5 Jaar (Over 5 Years), a program produced only every five years. Five years ago, Wim De Vilder visited nine well-known and interesting Flemish people at their homes or workplaces. And he asked them to look into the future, five years ahead. Not easy. The interviews from back then were hidden away for five years. No one could see them. A reason for the guests to really let their guard down. Now, Wim De Vilder confronts the guests with their own predictions.

Eric Goens returns with well-known Flemish people such as Bart Peeters, Alexander De Croo, Nora Gharib, Alex Agnew, Andy Peelman and Julie Van den Steen to the school of their childhood. From the school desks of their youth he goes in search of their life story. What big and small stories from their school days have stuck? Which classmate secretly started walking with their attention? And have they become who they hoped to become?
